Lance has the potential to be a good player. He is agile and a real teamplayer. He has the ability to assist his teammates with great passes and really opens up the play with his dribbling skills. He lacks real shotpower, though his shots are always on target. He didn't play much last season because MVV has another player with the same skills, who is less agile, but has more shooting power. If your team would use him for his agility, he would certainly be an adittion to the team as an attacking midfielder to spreaden the play. But he doesn't have the body mass to win much headers.
He is a player who has been underrated by MVV. The past two years he always was involved in crucial moments and goals, but he never got the credits for it. His contract was not renewed due to the financial limitations it would bring, to contract new and more talented players. It would've stopped the grow of the club.
Van der Leur is considered a traitor in Maastricht, however he also left because he gained no credit for his involvement in the team when he played for MVV. Playing for Roda JC, is considered playing for the enemy in Maastricht, and he got his ultimate payback against MVV wearing those colours. We always call Roda JC 'The Moffen', due their different dialect which sounds more like German (Ripuarisch/Rijnlands). Moffen is a bad word most Dutch people used for Germans during the second world war. The irony in it is that 80% of our own dialect is also from German origins (Limburgs), but we think it's French/Dutch (because of cultural differences), even though we can't even order a croissant in the language of our neighbor city 'Liege' :lachen: . If you understand Dutch, you would understand our dialect more, it is written here by some users on the forum. It's also spoken in some regions of Nordrhein-Westfalen and has six different versions. Uerdingen has one of those variants, so you should be familiar with it.
Roda isn't the poker player you want sitting at the table, they are known for their cardtricks with glue under the table, they even bribe the dealer, because the house always has to win (Township of Kerkrade ). They always get away with it, even with a 5% win chance, while MVV always needs to hope they get the royal flush, with a spades of two and five in their hands. To be honest it's just jealousy, but not about their sportsresults, but the financial luck they are having. They call themselves 'the proud of the south', while within their orginisation there is nothing to be proud of. Like the Germans (Moffen) were corrupt during the second world war, Roda has been given this name for their own corruption. That's why Van der Leur isn't respected anymore in Maastricht.
I wish KFC Uerdingen a succesful season this year.

Thanks for all the information. Very interesting.
But he really looks like a very agile player with good passes. Its still not decided if he signs but van der Luer seems to be completely enthusiastic about him and wants him very much which is surprising because we actually dont search an attacking central midfielder because we already have 3 very good ones. Anyway, thanks again.
I saw this yesterday in this friendly match. He lost a header and unfortunately this resulted immediately in a goal for Osnabrück.houtengerard wrote: But he doesn't have the body mass to win much headers.
